You want to understand how BestieQuiz.com collects, uses, and protects your personal data, and this is the page that explains it all! This policy gives you a clear understanding of how this platform handles your information when you use our fun friendship quiz services and badge shop.
👤 What Information Is Collected?
Because I believe in privacy, I collect very limited information from users. You can browse our website completely anonymously. However, to interact with the platform, we collect the following:
- Quiz Data: The name you enter when you start or take a personalized quiz, along with the answers you select.
- Badge Shop Data: If you purchase a badge, we store the sender’s name, the receiver’s name, and the type of badge sent. (We DO NOT store credit card data—see the Payments section below).
- Push Notifications: If you click “Allow” for notifications, your browser generates an anonymous “endpoint” key so our server knows where to send the alert. No personal device data is collected.
⚙️ How We Use Your Data
The information we collect is never used for personal targeting. Your name and answers are simply saved so the quiz can function properly, allowing your friends to view the leaderboard. We only use your data to:
- Display names and scores on the quiz leaderboards.
- Deliver digital badges to the correct user’s Badge Shelf.
- Send you a push notification (only if you opted in) when someone takes your quiz.
💳 Payments & Financial Data
For our Badge Shop, we partner with Paddle.com, which acts as our Merchant of Record. When you purchase a badge, Paddle handles the entire secure checkout process.
BestieQuiz does not collect, process, or store your credit card numbers, bank details, or billing addresses. We only receive a secure “webhook” from Paddle containing a transaction ID and the names attached to the badge so we can deliver your gift.
🗑️ How We Store & Auto-Delete Your Data
As the single developer of BestieQuiz, I am strictly committed to protecting your privacy and keeping our servers clean.
- The 30-Day Rule: The quizzes you create and the answers your friends submit are stored on our secure server for 30 days.
- Automatic Deletion: This 30-day timer resets every time a new user attempts your quiz. If 30 days pass with zero new attempts, your quiz, its leaderboard, and all its earned badges are permanently and automatically deleted.
- Manual Deletion: You don’t have to wait 30 days. You can instantly delete your own quiz at any time by clicking the red “Delete Your Quiz” button at the bottom of your personal scoreboard.
🍪 Cookies and Advertising
Yes, we use cookies! Cookies are small files transferred to your device through your browser to help us remember your preferences (like your Quiz ID so you don’t lose access to your dashboard). You can choose to disable cookies through your browser settings, though doing so will break the quiz functionality.
Google AdSense
We use Google as a third-party vendor to display ads. Google uses the DART cookie to serve ads based on your activity across the web. This advertising is what pays for the servers and keeps our core services 100% free for you to use!
You can opt out of the DART cookie by checking out Google’s ad policies here: 👉 https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
🔗 Third-Party Links & Policy Updates
I never sell, trade, or transfer your name or personal information to outside parties.
Occasionally, we may include links to third-party products or services. These websites have separate privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or actions. Please always exercise caution regarding your safety online.
If this Privacy Policy changes, we will update the modifications directly on this page. This policy applies only to our online data collection; we do not collect any personal information offline.
